Abstract
Cotton textiles require absolute cleanliness during manufacture and finishing, and all operations including the lubrication of the equipment are secondary to this requirement. Present designs incorporate modern developments which aid lubrication, and also provide a reserve supply of lubricant with ample protection to the fabric. Frequent application of minimum quantities of lubricant is accepted practice, but “freak” oils are not necessary. A list is included which indicates the frequency of application, cleaning period, and the product required.
