Thermal plasma torches are energy-intensive devices that operate at temperatures unreachable by conventional combustion or partial oxidation processes. Plasma gasification reactors for biomass are relatively easy to control, since electric power can be varied quickly tomaintain conditions of the biomass conversion process.
